Equinox updates

Friends, Family, Colleagues, Supporters, Co-Conspirators.... Thank you. Thank you for your patience and your support. 2019 has been a whirlwind... and I wonder, have you been feeling it too? I am currently reading Charles Eisenstein's "Climate - A New Story", and as I work through edits on the final script for "Where There Once Was Water", I am appreciating & incorporating his thoughts around the importance of shifting our focus & conversation towards restoration of our natural systems.

“If we strove to heal and protect every estuary, every forest, every wetlands, every piece of damaged and desertified land, every coral reef, every lake, and every mountain, not only would most drilling, fracking, and pipelining have to stop, but the biosphere would become far more resilient too.”   - Charles Eisenstein

Fundraising to finish up the film continues, and I am excited to announce that Mini-Sessions are now available for the Fall. There are only 12 spots available, and they are filling up fast. As many of you know, due to various demands on my schedule, I have stopped offering individual portrait sessions throughout the rest of the year, so if you're wanting portraits in time for the holidays (or for any other reason) be sure to book your mini-session asap. 100% of the proceeds go directly towards post-production of "Where There Once Was Water". And at this point we are SO CLOSE to being done with the film that I can almost taste it. (Yay!) Find all the info about how to book your very own mini-session right HERE.

Throughout this project I have created photographs at almost all of the locations I have visited. Many of you have requested access to these images, expressing your interest in purchasing prints. And so, after much editing & uploading & excitement... I bring to you... a MASSIVE gallery of "Where There Once Was Water" photographs. Prints are available in a variety of sizes, at discounted rates, and ordering is easy through the online gallery. ALL money raised through print sales will be put directly towards post-productions expenses. So, if you're looking to freshen up your walls, or you want to get your holiday shopping done early, or you just want some nice images to view during your lunch break, it's all right HERE.

Last but definitely not least, please watch (and share!) our OFFICIAL TRAILER. And until next time, much love to you all. Thank you for your continued support, patience and feedback. I literally couldn't be doing this without you.

M.I.A. no longer...

Friends, Family, Colleagues, Supporters, Co-Conspirators.... Thank you. Thank you for your patience with me. The past few months have been a whirlwind... I have been MIA, for many reasons, and for that I sincerely apologize. I do have exciting updates about the film (see below), and I do have to admit that this is all taking MUCH longer than I anticipated. A completion date is still up in the air (and for a certified Type A, believe me, this is a bit crazy-making). But I'd rather take my time and do this right, and I want to thank you, fully and sincerely, for your patience and support as I wade through unknown territory, in a holistic, full-bodied and whole-hearted attempt to give a voice to water.

Since the onset of this project, I have been following the work of Chief Caleen Sisk, the leader of the Winnemem Wintu in Northern California. She is a champion for water, for California rivers and salmon, and for tribal people and the preservation of traditional life ways. She has been working tirelessly to stop the Shasta Dam Raise, as the proposed project would flood her people out of the last remaining bits of their land, where they still practice ancient ceremonies. I was fortunate to be invited to document their third annual "Run 4 Salmon", where they run, walk, bike, sing, dance and boat the entire route of the Winter-Run Chinook Salmon - from the San Francisco Bay, up the Sacramento River, to their ancient spawning grounds at the headwaters of the McCloud River. An interview with the Chief is now a prominent part of the film. (Honestly, it would have never been right or complete without her).

What do lemurs have to do with the production of a film, you ask? Well... a lot actually! Our good friends at Conservation Ambassadors hosted us at their "Zoo" so that we could get another round of feedback from colleagues. We felt we were at a point in post-production where we really needed some feedback from industry professionals. So, we invited them... in hopes (in a weird masochistic sort of way) that they would tear the film apart. And they did. And now, with their valuable advice in our pockets, piece by piece, we are putting it all back together again. The importance of this feedback cannot be stressed enough, and we are utterly grateful to everyone who has provided feedback along the way, especially at this stage in production. In the end, this film will be MUCH stronger thanks to all of YOU. And when we're ready to show it to the world in it's next iteration, you will be the first to know.

Last but definitely not least, if you haven't yet had a chance, please take three minutes to watch (and share!) our OFFICIAL TRAILER. And until next time (which won't be so far off, I promise), much love to you all. Thank you for your continued support, patience and feedback as we walk this incredible journey to bring you a story of water & hope.

Love & Gratitude ... for YOU

Mega Gratitude, Y'all!

It has been a busy summer of photo-shooting, film-making and fund-raising, and I am so very grateful for YOU. We are always stronger together, and this project is no exception. On August 10th we hosted a Fundraiser Party and a Rough-Draft Feedback-Screening of the film in SLO, and it was truly an epic experience. Thank you to everyone who made it so (I'll list all the yummy details below).  You all rock my world, and I feel quite lucky to be walking this path with you. Thanks to you, we now have the funds and the feedback that we need to finish this film... Yee Haw!

For my Sacramento peeps!  You are invited to a Rough-Draft Feedback Screening of Where There Once Was Water at the The Yisrael Family Urban Farm on Thursday, September 6th. We hope you'll join us!  There will be limited seating, so please reserve your ticket early.

Extra Special thanks are due to these lovely folks who helped to make our recent Fundraiser Party such a walloping success. Please show them your love & support if you are able...

I'm excited for an upcoming film trip during which I'll be traveling throughout Northern California - grabbing the final bits and pieces to add to this expansive California Water Story.  This is an incredible process, and quite a marathon. It feels right and true and good. Thank you for your continued love & support, friends!  Let's continue to be the change we want to see in this world.  We need each other now more than ever.
